Residents of the Cimarron subdivision were greeted with a rather unusual site on Wednesday moorning, This pair of red shouldered hawks was spotted on a fence at Cimarron Drive and Montezuma Street. With a little help from the folks at the Texas Zoo and an online source at www.birdinginformation.com, we learned more about the birds. It seems that the hawk migrates from Mexico to California, Texas and Florida, but normally around April. They perch high in a tree so that they can swoop down on their prey of mice or small birds.
