Caption: Monica Reyna, 21, and William Morris, 25, both of Houston, made a pledge to drive sober Monday afternoon when the Texas Department of Transportation, Victoria police officers and Victoria County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped at the new Wal-Mart on Houston Highway. The longtime event featured a donated red limousine for the first time, which also made stops in Gonzales, Hallettsville, Yoakum and Cuero. More than 240 people throughout TxDOT's 11-county Yoakum district pledged to drive sober. Those who pledged to drive sober were entered to win a trip to New York City on New Years Eve or the gift of a sober ride in the limousine for them or their friends in their hometown. "It is indeed a gift to ensure no lives are lost," TxDOT spokeswoman Helena Wright said.
